Clayton County sheriff’s deputies and Morrow police officers raided and
shut down all massage parlors Friday in a major
crackdown on prostitution.
“We are cutting this cancer out today,” Clayton Sheriff Victor Hill
said.
Hill said the shutdown is a culmination of a three-month joint investigation into
dozens of spas and massage parlors that are merely fronts for prostitution.
“We’re not just rounding up prostitutes, we’re closing the doors,
shutting them down, putting up signs saying, ‘Closed,’” he said.
Hill said some suspected prostitutes, mostly illegal Asian immigrants, are victims
of human trafficking, a crime that will also be addressed Friday. |
