Hope
for Sudan ministry is the second member of our orphan-care
network in Sudan. It is located near the border of
Uganda. In this area, children are at high risk to slavery
from the Northern Sudanese Government-funded LRA (Lord’s
Resistance Army) that operates out of Uganda and
Sudan. The LRA rapes, mutilates and enslaves the children
in South Sudan. Our indigenously run ministry is strategically
located in Moti to specifically care for widows and orphans
at risk to persecution and slavery.
MWP’s
Hope For Sudan (HFS) has approximately 200 acres
for development including a school, church/community outreach
programs, compound house system that will provide safe housing
for widows and orphans. Each dormitory building houses twenty-four
orphans and two caregivers. The residential complex will include
cooking and dining facilities, safe drinking water and sanitary
latrines. Phase I groundbreaking began in 2010.
This orphanage is now portecting nearly 100 orphans!
