Hope
For Sudan Orphanage

Hope For Sudan is
near the border of Uganda where the children are at constant
threat of being abducted into slavery (usually either as sex
slaves or child soldiers).
Here, we are building orphan-care homes to house and care
for hundreds of orphans, and following the same successful
model of indigenous leadership that has worked so well with
James Lual Atak on the border of Darfur.
In early 2009, our President, Kimberly Smith, flew into Sudan
to acquire these 200 acres nearly 1,000 miles south of New
Life Ministry, near the border of Uganda. Just days prior
to their landing, the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA)
raided a village and abducted more than 300 children. Most
of those children are orphans who had no one to protect them.
The UN reports that the LRA committed 67 such raids from late
2008 to mid 2009.
Prior to building the orphan homes on the border of Darfur,
we experienced the same kind of continual loss. However, since
housing and protecting our children, we have not lost one.
Praise God!
With your help God continued to grow us in
order to save more orphans! At Hope for Sudan
we are completing our second orphanage and seeing lives transformed!
Here are two brief
videos that will introduce you to some of the children already
rescued and being cared for by our loving indigenous staff:
