Even though Satan declared war against mankind (Rev. 12: 7-17), Jesus promises us that He is raising up a Church so strong that even the gates of Hell can't keep it out!  (Mat. 16:18)  Through that power Make Way Partners shares the Hope of the Gospel with the most vulnerable & least protected to end human trafficking and modern-day slavery.

Here is how we live it out in Sudan:

Teresa's (read her story above) mother was a sex slave, and thus, Teresa was born into the cycle of sexual slavery.  This child's precious life and senseless death taught us much about how to protect other vulnerable children.  Already established in Eastern Europe and Africa, Make Way Partners expanded its ministry to build the only orphanage, school and church in Sudan that is available for Darfur orphans and other Sudanese children who are at high risk of slavery.  We feed, clothe, educate, disciple, and provide medical care for more than 400 orphans!

An estimated 4 million "Teresa's" are in Sudan today.

Together we can stop the cycle.

SUDAN Background:

In Sudan, more than four million people (mostly Christians) have been killed by the Muslim militia (Janjaweed), been victims of human trafficking when they were captured by the Slave Raiders or have died of thirst and starvation in an on-going war lasting more than five decades.  This war was a Northern Islamic invasion upon Christians and Animists in Southern Sudan.  In around 2004, the same Islamic regimes began the conflict known as Darfur.  Through these attacks some 500,000 have been killed.  As a result of these two wars upon the indigenous people of Sudan, Southern Sudan is the poorest nation in the world with the highest per capita rate of victims of human trafficking and enslavement.

Though Sudan signed a peace treaty in January of 2005, the country is still in a state of much unrest. Prior to January the Janjaweed had bombed or burned all schools, churches, homes, clinics and crops as well as poisoned their wells and taken up to 2 million women and children as slaves to the North of the country.   Thousands of slaves are now being released but have no where to go.  Through partnerships we participate in the building of long-term indigenous discipleship and relief ministries which provide opportunities for hope and healing.

The purpose of Make Way Partners ministry in Sudan is twofold:

  1. To help the formerly enslaved women and persecuted Christians of Sudan to rebuild their lives and community.
  2. To ensure protection and care for the children of Sudan (espeically the orphans, Darfur refugees, and community children enrolled in our school program).

Heirs of the King

Jesus said,“Whoever cares for these

little children, cares for me…” Mark 9:37

We seek to be the hands and feet of Christ to the persecuted Christians of Sudan, as well as, to their persecutors.

We seek to offer healing and hope to the trafficked victims of Sudan, as well as, to their traffickers.

Partnering with an indigenous ministry, started by a former Lost Boy, we are responding to the growing need for orphan care in his area. This ministry currently has more than 400 children in our orphanage, school and food program.

With the formerly enslaved women we offer a slave repatriation and sponsorship program to help these women care for their families and receive healing after years of trauma.  We train and employ many of these women through our indigenous ministry and micro-enterprise.

The partnership is also working to rebuild the surrounding community as we develop an indigenously run medical clinic, drill wells to provide clean water, and as we bring short term teams to encourage, disciple, and provide practical solutions to our brothers and sisters there in need.

Your faithful prayers and financial support literally set the captives free
